 | Candy Dulfer VISIT WEBSITE » PURCHASE MUSIC » Saxophonist Candy Dulfer is one of the hottest talents to wrap her lips around a reed. The Dutch-born artist once even had the Artist Formerly Known As Prince exclaim, "When I want sax, I call Candy!" Following in the footsteps of her famous Dutch jazz musician father, Candy picked up the saxophone at an early age, hung out with the likes of Dexter Gordon and recorded her first album with her father's GROUP at age 11. When Candy turned 15, she started her own group, Funky Stuff, and went on to support Madonna in her Dutch tour dates in 1987. In 1989, Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics tapped Candy for a film soundtrack. She also joined Prince to record "Graffiti Bridge" and released two albums, "Saxuality" and "Sax-A-Go-Go." Candy's latest CD, "For The Love Of You," is funky and jazz-tinged with upbeat saxophone sounds. |
